What is GAC?

GAC refers to 'Global Assembly Cache' where we store all shared assembly(.dll files) which can be used accross applications.

Virtual folder path to GAC:  c:\windows\assembly.     

• Start » Run
• assembly

Real GAC folder path:

• Start » Run
• %systemroot%\assembly\gac [ENTER]

This will open the GAC folder.
